Staff Positions

T-6 intends to offer one or more staff positions in the Fall. Watch for an ad in the AAS job register.

Postdoc Positions

We are seeking Postdoctoral Fellows in Theoretical or Computational Astrophysics who have obtained a Ph. D. within the last three years Candidates in all disciplines of astrophysics and computational physics may also compete for a Director's Fellowship and outstanding candidates will also be considered for the J. Robert Oppenheimer or Richard P. Feynman Fellowships. Further details are available at http://www.hr.lanl.gov/postdoc/.

To be considered for a Postdoc position in T-6, you must apply to the Laboratory Postdoc program. A good guide for preparation of application materials is given at http://www.hr.lanl.gov/postdoc/guide.stm.

In addition, the T-6 Group requests that potential students send a copies of their on-line application, resumé, all collegiate transcripts, one or two letters of recommendation and a statement of their research interest to the T-6 Group Office. The letters should address the major accomplishments of the student, the ranking of the student in relation to peers in the group, department, or field and examples of candidate's industriousness, creativity, maturity, and independence. Specific examples, such as: "She solved this long standing problem." Or "He organized a symposium on his own." will help us in our evaluations.

Student Programs

The Theoretical Astrophysics Group has an active summer program for students with research projects ranging from astrophysics, nuclear physics and computational science. If interested, please contact us during the fall as housing for the summer fills up very quickly in the spring. This program is coordinated through the T-6 Group Office.
